I Love You Ngombe!

Though Ngombe means "cow" in Nyanja (the local language here in Zambia), the word may not have much meaning but the place it self does!

Let me introduce you to this special place... Ngombe is a compound here in Lusaka; the capital city of Zambia which is made up of about 30+ compounds. Ngombe has around 65,000 residents in the area and around 30,000 of that large number are children. Shocking right? Well in Zambia, children make up a large portion of the population.

So you may be asking what is special about this place? Why am i writing a blog on it?

Well Ngombe is my happiness, the place you will find 40 boys that I deeply love. In 2015 when I first came to Zambia, I met 20 children from Ngombe and even had the privilege to visit this compound. And Ever since then the Lord has knitted my heart close to this area and He has created bonds that can never be broken.

Over the last 3 months since i've moved to Zambia, I have been praying and seeking counsel on what exactly my calling is. 7 years ago God used my kids in Ngombe to do a special work in my life and it only be honorable and obedient to the Lord that i do something specific in this community within my boys. So i have decided to glorify that calling and start a program called "Nikukonda Ngombe", meaning "I love you Ngombe". This program will give my boys the opportunity to come and know their Savior, in the deepest way. It will give them each the privilege to live a life that is pleasing to God through mentorship, discipleship, bible studies, leadership courses, and giving them specific tools to be able to provide for them selves in life.

If you know me, you know i want my boys to know Christ because i love them dearly!

Over the next few weeks, I want to be writing more specifically about the goal i would like to accomplish in Ngombe Compound. Come along side of me as I plant seeds in Ngombe through the power of the Gospel! I want you all to know my boys by name, they are so special:)
